Aloha Wonderful CFLers!

I have been reflecting on "work" here, and honestly, it is like CLEAResult, but with sandals. And better food. And panoramic views of the ocean. And much more freedom to mess stuff up. OK, ill stop.

So here are a couple little things that parallel between Kalani and CLEAResult.

For example, we have a monday morning "All hands call". We don't have fancy projectors though, just the jungle and the sounds of birds instead of the sound of someone forgetting to put on "mute".

I still work in a desk. In whatever the hell I want to wear and sandals every day. Also, geckos shit on everything instead of ants eating everything.

The office smells like eucalyptus oil and pachouli. Not popcorn.

Instead of Peoples, I get fresh meals made 3 times a day by the wonderful kitchen staff. Totally worth not getting paid - you guys should switch over to a organic, fresh food based payment system. WAY better than bonuses.

The next one is for NERDS!
We have a MySQL based Access-accessable database that... WORKS! It was built from scratch, integrates well with windows, has a pineapple icon and handles all reservations (via website too), volunteer applications, group reservations, gift shop purchases, vehicle/spa/adventure reservations and more. It actually is quite impressive. It does have it's little glitches, but it is interesting to see a non profit fueled by a shoestring budget with a staff of 10 and a volunteer base of 60 - 80 people have a robust database running off a linux box in the middle of the jungle (cough... cough...) . One of my projects here is to create a dedicated offsite cloud server to mirror the in house, in case a lava eruption/earthquake/tsunami wipes out this one. Yippie!

Lunch N Swim takes on a whole new meaning. And are much more frequent :-)

Lunch conversations about the oneness of all things, the dream of life and being in the present are pretty much the same as they were with Roger and Jaymar. Just the characters are now named Sunshine or Clarity or Jim or Sofia.

My bicycle commute is shorter.

I love you all and enjoy wherever you are, whatever you are doing. I post this with a light heart - CLEAResult and the employees are a fantastic organization that is doing incredible work!

Be sure to wipe

We don't always TP my coworker's desks... but when we do, we go all out. Thanks Rachel & Melissa!
